Question
What happens to email conversations in Sell between a seller and a customer if the seller leaves and the email is disconnected from Sell? Can I keep historic email conversations on Sell if someone leaves my company?
Reply
If the user is deleted, all email conversations from that Sell user will be removed from the Sell (including blind carbon copy emails). If the user is deactivated, existing emails remain in leads, contacts and opportunities. However, new email conversations will not sync with the Sell of the disabled user's email account.
The order of an administrator's actions is important in this situation. When someone leaves a company, it is common for IT staff to delete their corporate email account. Email integration is updated very frequently, so it is important for an admin to deactivate a user before their emails are externally wiped by an IT team.
Warning: If the user is reactivated, the email integration will start syncing again to reflect the most up-to-date email conversations. Do not reactivate a user if their email account is no longer active, as you risk losing all historical emails on Sell.
